The East defense at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl is a talented bunch, lead by two five-star prospects, and many others with impressive credentials, offer lists, and talents. Here is a unit by unit look.

Defensive Line

This unit will not be overwhelmingly big on the interior, but they should be athletic and disruptive. USC commit Kenny Bigelow (Elkton, MD), Ohio State commit Michael Hill (Pendleton, SC), and North Carolina commit Greg Webb (Erial, NJ) and uncommitted Keith Bryant (Delray Beach, FL) are all Scout 300 members. Bigelow, a five-star, will look to justify his lofty ranking this week. He will be joined by a fellow future Trojan in defensive end Jason Hatcher (Louisville, KY), an undersized but explosive edge rusher. LSU commit Frank Herron (Memphis, TN), Florida commit Jordan Sherit (Tampa, FL), and Penn State commit Garrett Sickels (Little Silver, NJ) round out the ends. Wyatt Teller (Bealeton, VA), a Virginia Tech pledge, can go inside or outside at 6'5, 253-lbs.

Linebackers

Clemson commit Dorian O'Daniel (Olney, MD) and South Carolina verbal Larenz Bryant (Charlotte, NC) will bring speed to this corps as both are fast, attack minded linebackers. There is some strength too as Georgia commit Johnny O'Neal (Dublin, GA), and Peter Kalambayi (Matthews, NC), committed to Stanford, both weigh in the 230's. Two from Virginia, Notre Dame verbal Doug Randolph and Florida State commit E.J. Levenberry bring a little more size (both are 6'3) and versatility, and the highest ranked of the linebackers is Florida commit Daniel McMillan (Jacksonville, FL), the nation's number four middle backer.

Defensive Backs

This secondary, on paper, may be the strength of the team as every member is in the Scout 300. The corners will be big and talented. Ohio State commit Eli Apple (Voorhees, NJ), is nearly 6'1, Virginia Tech commit Kendall Fuller (Olney, MD), a five-star prospect and the nation's number two cornerback, and USC soft commit Jalen Ramsey (Brentwood, TN) both go 6'0, and uncommitted Mackensie Alexander (Immokalee, FL) is 5'11. All three are ranked in the top ten nationally at their position. Five-star Michigan commit Dymonte Thomas (Alliance, OH) leads the safeties along with two four-star SEC commits, Florida verbal Nick Washington (Jacksonville, FL) and Georgia commit Tray Matthews (Newnan, GA).
